2025: What. A. Year.
We have reached the end of yet ANOTHER year, the 8th year this blog has been up, it turns 8 in April 2026!
This year has been CRAZY and so many things happened. I'll go over some of them!
1. Donald Trump returned to power. This is likely the single biggest thing that happened this year and it brought A LOT of changes, many unwanted and ones that turned our country around back to, let's just say, darker and older times.
What happened?
We lost several Biden-era parts of the government (like the Office for Gun Violence Prevention, the Spanish-language version of the White House's website and even a PHYSICAL part of the White House, that being the East Wing), we went back to fossil fuels/left the Paris Climate Accord (again... remember 2017?), ICE went CRAZY on immigrants in the worst way possible and let's just say, the government treated me like SHIT. How?
Let's start with the fact that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. became one of the people in the Department of Health and Human Services, or HHS for short, even though he's quite literally said NOT to trust him, which in itself was a STUPID move that shouldn't have been allowed. And the thing he said during an April 2025 conference basically specifically used ME as a target, which hurt enough to the point I turned it into a school/college finals project in May 2025.
(What did he say? He said that conditions of mine like autism, ADHD, ADD, Tourette's and type 1 diabetes were "injuries" he never heard of as a kid and that our government is spending too much money on treating them, along with the fact that they prevent those like me from being able to do military service and other adult necessities)

2. TikTok ACTUALLY got banned! For 14 hours, that is... And when it came back, it was never the same as before, it acts like a mentally unstable elderly person now compared to before by not knowing what you want to watch and having "outbursts" of 18+ content scenes popping up on the For You Page which did NOT use to happen!
3. Let's talk about trends. 67 and Dubai Chocolate RULED this year. I started seeing Dubai Chocolate on sale on March 31, 2025 at a gas station close to IKEA in New Haven, CT and by now, it's everywhere, even here in Easthampton, MA! As for 67, that's a meaningless move that kids have been addicted to doing for the past 6 months. The 67 song (2024) was even played at Se7ens in Easthampton, MA on December 13, 2025, the day after I turned 22 at around 11:40 PM, which was 21+ only hours for this place, which start at 8 PM if I'm not mistaken (formerly 9 PM, that's what it was when I was becoming 21, people under 21 used to be able to attend the first hour of musical performances, but not anymore), and that 67 trend is happening amongst MINORS, those WAY under the legal drinking age of 21, people still in middle/high school at most!
4. And let's talk about some places we lost in 2025.
Walgreens in Easthampton, MA (nobody cares about this one except my bio-brother who now has to use CVS and their 100% automated system, they ditched human support over a year ago and now only let you give them a voicemail for a callback by a human), closed March 25, 2025.
Pulaski Club in Easthampton, MA (this one hit hard. A mainly 21+ establishment I only got to experience for a year. Rebranded the Pulaski Pub in October then gave up two months later. Final events held December 21, 2025.
American Legion Post 224 in Easthampton, MA (the era of Baby Boomer clubs is over, also, this being a 21+ establishment, I only got to go here for a year, along with that time I used the bathroom there at age 19 or 20. Final weeks of operation had the sign outside saying Drinkers Wanted Inquire Within, which is incredibly desperate but it unfortunately didn't work out. Likely closed by December 29, 2025.)
This year has been rather brutal for me and I'm hoping that 2026 is MUCH easier.

I dropped out of my first ever semester due to the following below:
I turned 22, which is a BIG deal in Massachusetts, 75% of my SSI is now room & board, I lost my pre-22 providers (except for future occasional visits from them if I want, which I do) and other changes like that happened.
My bio-mom entered a SEVERE mental health crisis starting Thanksgiving and required hospitalization at Cooley Dick TWICE.
2025 was basically a challenge year for me, and thankfully, I made it through, but BARELY. September 26-27 was particularly challenging for me and I required support from my bio-mom who walked 2 miles in the dark in pitch black to "save me" at almost 1 AM in the slight cold (~50s degrees Fahrenheit) that night after I got treated like a soldier that night after I had an outburst at my bio-brother's.
(What happened? I was doing Duolingo around 11:30 PM and my bio-brother and one of his friends were trying to get my attention while I was doing Duolingo so I threw my phone down and his friend snapped at me in a military manner, which I couldn't handle. I left the house saying "Nashawannuck Pond, here I come!" (as in I wanted to drown myself there), ran across the street, nearly got hit by a car (probably 1 second to spare if that) trying to get away from his friend but his friend ran over to me and DEMANDED I go back in the house and say sorry for what I did, which was NOT what I wanted to do in crisis like I was at that time. Eventually, he left (he was supposed to stay the night but thankfully he didn't), I was crying and went over to Tandem Bagel at just after midnight on the bike trail and sat down in the cold waiting for my bio-mom to come rescue me from the situation, she ended up staying the night instead once she came and we went back to my bio-brother's to watch Beavis & Butt-Head!
Forgot to mention, I fell in love with 2 shows this year: Beavis & Butt-Head and South Park.

But also, I made a new friend this college semester named Reece and I hope that our friendship continues in 2026, even though we'll be in different classes... I'll be in business classes waiting for the fall 2026 retake for my 2 fall 2025 classes (Physics I and Programming Fundamentals II) that I withdrew/dropped out of due to my severe struggles with life, health and procrastination this past semester that I hope are MUCH easier this upcoming semester (Spring is easier than Fall due to INCREASING daylight as the semester goes on)
I think that's enough bitching to leave 2025 in the past. Happy New Year 2026 in just a few hours, around 6-7 of them... (get it?)
