ONLY 1 MONTH LEFT OF GOOGLE+!

Image
A month ago, I posted about the fact that Google+ would be discontinued on April 2, 2019. To see that post, click  here . But, yes, another warning, there is now only 1 month left of the former platform. It's ok though, not many people used Google+, even in the beginning. But if you are one of the few who actually used the service, just to let you know, your account will be deleted in 1 month, and you will no longer be able to use the service. So, download all of your stuff to your phone or it will be deleted FOREVER! If you did like the service, why not sign up with  MeWe.com ! RIP Google+ 2011-2019 #Goodbye

SADDEST BLOG POST EVER: The Death Of My High School Years (I'm SO SORRY 😭😭😭)

I am really sorry to announce this, but effective immediately, My High School Years has been canceled due to time constraints and other reasons. There is always that small chance of me restarting operations of the show in the fall, but I think the show is done for good. And so, with that, 4/19/19's episode of My High School Years (A Nice Spring Break, S1 E21) is effective immediately the last episode. Personally, I think spring break is a great time to end the show. I was really hoping for a 2022 ending, but sadly we only made it to 2019. What I can say about My High School Years is that it was a nice 12-month vlog project that worked out pretty well for a while. And thanks for sticking around over the past year on development of the show! It's said to come to a close so early, but I really didn't have any time to make new episodes. So, thank you. NOTE: The end of My High School Years does NOT mean the end of this blog. I will continue to blog post as much as I can in th...

ONLY ONE WEEK LEFT OF THE WII SHOP CHANNEL!

Everybody knows the Wii. It was a revolutionary console that completely changed the gaming industry! It had a great life. But death signs started showing in 2013, when Nintendo discontinued WiiConnect24. This means that the Forecast Channel, News Channel, Everybody Votes Channel, Check Mii Out Channel, and the Nintendo Channel all went offline in 2013. And then in 2017, Nintendo announced the Wii Shop Channel would be discontinued on January 30, 2019. That's only a week from now! You'd better break out your Wii from storage and buy games. Out of points? Out of luck! Nintendo took away the ability to buy Wii Points back in March 2018. It marks the practical end of the Wii after over 12 years, as you're stuck with the games you already have. #Goodbye   #WiiShopChannel

A very weird goodbye from the Wii Shop Channel...

That's it. After 12 years of serving gamers all around the world, the Wii Shop Channel has been officially closed. It was a great channel. But it had a kind of weird goodbye. There wasn't an error message or anything like that, it just reverted to its original 2006 design without the ability to buy games. You can go in right now, you just can't buy games on it. It's weird; it's kind of like it's on permanent standby, if you know what I mean. Like online and offline at the same time. #Goodbye   #WiiShopChannel

2 MONTHS LEFT OF GOOGLE+! (Except for you lucky G Suite customers)

Well, it officially flopped. Google+ is a soon to be shut down social network created by Google in 2011 as the successor to Google Buzz. (2010-2011) It never really hyped and it was a good try for the social media market from Google. But Google will probably never be successful with social media. And so, due to security issues in 2018, Google announced that it would shut down Google+ in August 2019. However, in December 2018, it pushed the shut down date to April 2019, and later April 2, 2019. So if you're still using Google+, you better post something or create a new account, because after February 4th, you won't be able to. Also, here on Blogger, the Google+ share button will be removed February 4th. And starting in March, you will be able to starting downloading old stuff from your Google+ account, until April 2nd. On April 2nd, your personal accounts and everything will start to get deleted, and basically, Google+ is going to be swallowed into a black hole. Except for you l...

A piece of history GONE... The San Francisco FogCam to shut down on August 30, 2019, after 25 years of operation...

Image
One of the oldest webcams still alive is going to the graveyard. The San Francisco FogCam, which has been keeping track of the fog (and traffic!) on the San Francisco State University campus since 1994, is going to be shut down at the end of August, allegedly August 30, 2019. It marks the end of an era. Why will it be shut down? Well, apparently, the university has nowhere to put it anymore! Basically, the same thing that happened to the Coffee Pot Webcam in 2001, when they shut it down because the campus moved, and they (Cambridge University) didn't feel like keeping up with the webcam because it was outdated, basically that same thing is happening to the FogCam in 2019, except SFSU is not moving. The FogCam has been in operation since 1994, and has been broadcasting views of SFSU and San Francisco since 1994. But as of August 30, 2019, the camera will be no more. However, the website will remain after the shutdown on August 30, 2019, as a piece of history. If you want to see the ...

The Wii Shop Channel is officially GONE. Or not! It has been extended...

Back in 2017, Nintendo announced that the Wii Shop Channel would be discontinued on Jan 30, 2019. That's today! Yet apparently, Nintendo wanted to give their customers one last chance to buy stuff on the Wii Shop Channel, as it will actually, according to Nintendo Australia, shut down on Jan 31, 2019 at 1 AM EST. So, if you can stay up tonight, watch the livestream of the end of the Wii Shop Channel. So before 1 AM tonight, break your Wii OUT and buy GAMES! Out of points? Out of luck! I'm sorry, but Nintendo took away the ability to buy Wii Points in March 2018. #Goodbye   #WiiShopChannel #OneLastChance

THE OPPORTUNITY MISSION IS DONE AFTER 15 YEARS...

Image
If you haven't heard already, NASA's Opportunity mission, which started in 2004, is officially done. NASA made many attempts to contact the rover after it lost contact on June 10, 2018 due to dust storms on Mars. Unfortunately, no contact was made and the mission was deemed complete today, this February 13, 2019. It lasted 15 YEARS when it was only supposed to last 92 DAYS. Had the mission actually ended in 2004 like it was supposed to, I might've never heard of Opportunity. Some links: Last Transmission  (June 2018) (My battery is low, and it's getting dark) 😭😭😭 Opportunity also hovered an amazing 45 KILOMETERS! (28 MILES) RIP Opportunity 2004-2019 #ThanksOppy   #GoodnightOppy #Goodbye

IT'S DAY 4 OF MY 2019 FEBRUARY VACATION!

Image
Wednesday was Feb 20, 2019, and it was the fourth day of my 2019 February vacation! Wednesday was a great day: I  went to 110 Grill  at the Holyoke Mall and went to Hampshire Mall and basically had a redo of  Sunday . It was a fun day! Here's what happened yesterday: Mom planned another trip yesterday: The Dr. Seuss museum! However, I didn't feel like going, so Mom dropped me off with Julie at the Holyoke Mall. And Julie and I had a lot of fun and we went to 110 Grill! After Julie, Mom had to bring my little brother to Jason's (his social worker) car, and we had to walk through a lot of Macy's to find it, and let me tell you, that store is BIG! Plus, it's 2 floors, so it was even more work to walk through the store! After Macy's and the Holyoke Mall, our family then went to Hampshire Mall! But moments before we got there, there's this new construction going on that will include a Five Guys and an L.L. Bean. But while we were driving by, guess what one of t...

We're back! May 31 2019: Chuck E Cheese, getting my first bank account, and the end of 95.5 PLJ in New York City

Image
Happy June! Aren't you glad that school is almost over? (or already is if you are in college) My last day of school is June 24th! Summer is just around the corner! I'm very sorry I haven't posted lately, and that's just because it takes a lot of time to do a blog post, and I haven't had much time lately. But I want to start June on a nice note and start blog posting again! So, here's what I did yesterday, May 31 2019: I went to Chuck E Cheese! I have not been there since Dec 12 2015! (my 12th birthday) We went to support Mom's school that she works at, and I had a semi-good time. Unfortunately, the arcade was not the best time, but also not the worst. It's just because the jackpots were very low, and the arcade only had like 20 games, and the fact that most were kid-themed games. (like Paw Patrol) I had a good time on some of the games, but like I said, the jackpots were very low (but that's only because little kids can't comprehend big jackpo...

Ditching the desserts... All Androids Q and after to simply be named Android 10, 11, etc., along with logo redesign...

Image
That's it, fellas! After 10 sweet years of delicious names, Google is ditching the desserts. Android Q will simply be named Android 10, along with every version afterwards being named the consecutive number (11, 12, etc.) Why is the change happening? Two reasons. One, Q is a hard letter. I mean, there's not many desserts (or anything!) that starts with Q. So that's one reason. The second and main reason: The dessert names can be hard in some parts of the world. Like, lollipop. That can be hard in some parts of the world, especially the UK. Like are you talking about a lollipop, a lolly (any candy) , or an ice lolly? (Known as a popsicle in the US) See, that's confusing! And marshmallows? Those aren't really popular in many countries. And it was a good time for a change. 10 years was a good amount of time for the old system. And Q was the PERFECT time for a change. However, the codenames will still be after the letter. But it won't be BASED on the letter anymore....
