AN ABSOLUTELY AMAZING 4TH OF JULY...
Happy belated 4th of July! I have a great blog post for you guys today. For the 4th of July, we went to the beach in Westerly, RI! That was SO much fun, and I took so many pics, that you need to see them all. Let's do this!
On the way to Westerly, RI, or Mystic Aquarium, on CT-85, you will encounter this dinosaur place that is SO awesome that you NEED to go! It's a great place to take pics of your kids standing in front of the dinosaur, or if you want to take a selfie in front of the dinosaur. I was last here in 2012, when we went to Mystic Aquarium, and my mom has some old photos of me standing next to the dinosaur in 2012. We passed by it in 2018 when we made a return trip to Mystic Aquarium, but we did not stop there.
This is what the dinosaur looks like. Roarrr!!! 🐊🐊🐊
When you leave The Dinosaur Place, (that's the actual name of the place) you take CT-85 south until you see I-95, take I-95 north to exit 91, then take exit 91 to CT-234 east, and continue through Pawcatuck, CT until you see a bridge; drive over the bridge and this bridge crosses you into Rhode Island. Next, take Beach Street and then slight right onto Route 1A; the road becomes Watch Hill Road, and finally Bay Street. When you see shops and such, you have arrived at the Watch Hill Beach!
A beautiful view of the yachts and boats on the beach.
This is what the Watch Hill Beach looks like when it's crowded.
I literally took this photo while in the water! This photo was actually taken while in the ocean!
When I decided to lay down in the sand, relaxing, my eyes closed... 😏😏😏🌴🌴🌴
When my little brother buried me in the sand... The reason why one of my hands are not covered is because I used that hand to take this selfie.
The beach at 6pm, an hour before closing time. Wow, what a change...
The selfie I took after taking a shower...
Showers at the beach are so cold... Brrr!!! 🌴🌴🌴❄❄❄
The yacht/boat area at 6:45pm, nearing sunset...
After leaving the beach at 6:30pm, we decided to check in the area to see if there was more shops or whatever, but we almost got lost doing this! We did find our way back, but our mission was unsuccessful... At 7pm, we stopped on the beach road and ate at the St. Clair Annex. It turns out they did have gluten free stuff there, so I had a plain cheeseburger with fries. It was good, but I don't have a photo because the rest of the night became electronics-free. It was good, though!
We got out of the St. Clair Annex just in time to see the AMAZING sunset. This photo was taken at 8:10pm!
The sunset a few minutes later at 8:15pm; at this time, even though it looks white, the sun turned completely red and it was SO beautiful! Even though that was good, the 8:10pm photo was a lot better than the 8:15pm photo.
Afterwards, we left to go back home! At this time, around 8:45pm at the CT-RI border, Mom's GPS kinda stopped working and I had to put my GPS on and we were good, even though other people were using their phones as GPS's. (the reception stinks in that area!) Unfortunately, my Fourth didn't consist of any fireworks, only a couple on the ride back home on the highway. But it was an AMAZING Fourth Of July! And that was my 4th of July!
