Fall Foliage With TR27: Back For Peak (10.20.25)

Back For Peak

Update 36 of the 2025 season of Fall Foliage With TR27

10.20.25 (covers 10.06-10.20 in 1 update, published 10.22)

If you thought I gave up, I basically did but that's because life hit me rather hard and I really had no choice. I'm going to use this to catch up, and right now, I'm pretty sure the colors are peak in my area, basically EVERYTHING is orange right now, so if I came back later than this, I would've missed the peak season and therefore would've had like no reason to continue, so it's crucial I come back at this point.

What happened over the past 2 weeks:

Temps came down, we're FINALLY in fall mode with temps in the 50s/60s expected now

Foliage advanced, A LOT, pretty much from scattered to as good as it's going to get!

Since I can't make a title card for ALL 15 days, I'll just continue without those for the rest of the season starting here, that was too much work and mainly for Instagram, where NOBODY wants to read a post where the first pic is a drawn title card. For those 15 days (10.06 to 10.20, today), I'll list the highs recorded at that PWS in Easthampton, MA each day, those being, to the nearest °F:

10.06: 84°F (+19)
10.07: 82°F at Westover (+18)
10.08: 70°F (+6)
10.09: 58°F at Westover (-6)
10.10: 62°F (+1)
10.11: 66°F (+3)
10.12: 57°F (-5)
10.13: 56°F at Westover (-6)
10.14: 61°F at Westover (0, exactly average!) *First perfect day!
10.15: 62°F (+1)
10.16: 59°F (-2)
10.17: 68°F (+8)
10.18: 66°F (+6)
10.19: 69°F (nice 😈) (+9) *Last day with an average in the 60s until April 21 next year!
10.20: 66°F (+7)
*Now that we have missing data this far into the season, days that are missing at the PWS (10.03, 10.07, 10.09, 10.13/10.14) will have Westover's high as the official record for how above normal this fall has been. Even though we're at average now, the fact that the month STARTED in the 70s/80s will still make a significant dent in terms that this month will still be decently above average because of that.

After 10.07, I think it's safe to say we officially lost summer. It took a few weeks longer than it should have, but at least we have the proper vibe now! 🍁πŸ§₯☀️πŸ₯ΆπŸ˜ŽπŸŒ§️

As for the next 2 weeks, this is what it looks like:

10/21: ☀️ 67/50
10/22: 🌧️ 63/40 (41%)
10/23: 🌀️ 59/37
10/24: ⛅ 58/36
10/25: ⛅ 57/33
10/26: ⛅ 57/33 (same weather, also THREE days in a row with the high at EXACT average for us!)
10/27: ⛅ 55/36
10/28: 🌧️ 57/40 (35%)
10/29: 🌧️ 56/39 (46%)
10/30: 🌧️ 58/39 (54%)
πŸŽƒ: 🌧️😭 55/39 (52%)
11/1: 🌧️ 54/38 (36%)
11/2: 🌧️ 54/37 (45%)
11/3: 🌧️ 53/37 (36%)

Not looking good for Halloween trick-or-treating, but a WEEK of rain is most CERTAINLY needed, though it will feel rather depressing. However, having pleasant weather during peak fall foliage CERTAINLY makes up for it, and these temps are where we should be, with only 10/21 being a BIT warm at 67 (DON'T get me started on the whole trend around this number), but last year, 10/21 was 86. What an improvement in terms of the climate!

Also, WOW. Almost the ENTIRE forecast is AT AVERAGE! 😱😁 That's good news for the climate, but it took WAY longer than it should've for a cool down like this!

And for the last week of October and first week of November, we fall steady into the 50s. Awesome, that's where we should be and this is usually when the REAL chill begins! πŸ₯Ά

Halloween marks the halfway point of my documentation!

At this point, I've taken too many fall foliage pics to include in 1 mega update like this, so I'll probably make an Instagram video showcasing all of it, especially now that we're in peak foliage in my area, and some of it is GORGEOUS!

I haven't updated the Instagram for it in a while, but it's @fallfoliagewithtr27 on Instagram and my main account @tr27.official for once it comes out!

Sorry for the delay, but I've been falling behind in everything and I had no choice but to put this off. Now I'm going to focus on this partially for probably the rest of the month but I will continue having my health and schoolwork as priorities.

See you soon!

Updated 4:35 PM on 10/22/25 to colorize highs based on how far above or below average they were/are and to add additional info.
