Fall Foliage With TR27: Bridge To Summer (10.03.25)
Bridge To Summer
Update 33 of the 2025 season of Fall Foliage With TR27
10.03.25
Yesterday was 60s, today was mid-70s and tomorrow through October 7 is 80s, so in that way, today was the Bridge To Summer. Today was just as good as yesterday but even warmer and it looks like tomorrow will continue that trend. Today's high is about as warm as we should truly get in the month of October but we're going past that starting tomorrow and that will continue through October 7 when fall finally arrives on October 8!
Here's the summary and fall foliage pics below:
For today, day 33:
High: 75°F
Average: 66°F
(+9)
Today topped out around 75°F and to be honest, for early October, that should be as warm as it gets for the rest of the year during a warm streak, but we're going about 10 degrees above that in the coming days, very close to pink tier territory, 21+°F above average!
The expected forecast from 10/4-10/17:
10/4: ☀️ 82/50
10/5: ☀️ 85/50 *86 and it's the first pink tier day!
10/6: ⛅ 83/52
10/7: ⛅ 81/58
10/8: 🌧️ 63/37 (76%)
10/9: ☀️ 60/32 *Our first 32°F low! Looks like it's time to bring in the plants for the year, after we get through this 80+ degree weather, that is! However, this is decently below average, as the average low on October 9-10 is 45°F, so 32 is -13, a solid blue tier reading! What this means is that it's a bit early for our first 32, that should happen a little closer to Halloween! However, it is actually around the time we have our first true frost so it makes sense!
10/10: ⛅ 65/39
10/11: ⛅ 69/44
10/12: 🌤️ 66/40
10/13: ⛅ 66/42
10/14: ⛅ 68/41
10/15: 🌧️ 68/45 (44%)
10/16: 🌧️ 66/44 (46%)
10/17: 🌧️ 64/42 (37%)
What this weather is telling me is that true fall is now the 60s, rather than the 50s. The day that will feel most like fall is October 9, with a high of only 60 and straight sunshine expected! The rest of the days after the heat spell are either raining or barely fall with highs around 65-70 rather than the usual 55-65 we expect during the fall season. Keep in mind that at the end of September 2023, we had a high below 60 and Indigenous People's Day weekend in 2024 had a high below 50, so this is quite unusual! It's not looking as bad as it was yesterday, but it's still barely fall with temps in the 60s closer to 70 rather than the 50s! Given how this weather is performing even warmer than 2023/24, I feel like Oct 4-7 might be the end of true summer weather, but I feel that it could still get well above average at a certain point after that we don't know yet, potentially around peak foliage week/close to Halloween. I feel that Oct 8 to maybe the 20th or so will be the current expected weather and that in the last third of the month (potentially on Halloween), we could get warm again, by warm, I mean above 70.
Here's the main pic and fall foliage pics taken today, 10/3/25:
This 3-day outlook is the total OPPOSITE of where we should be going in OCTOBER!
New business in Easthampton, MA!
Hit 100 items again, so that's really it, it still looks like a mix of summer and fall outside, but given the temps and the foliage, it's going to be more on the summer side for the next 4 days! By October 8, fall will actually come and October 9 might not even get to 60 outside! I'll see you tomorrow, for foliage from a different location... 😁☀️😎
