Fall Foliage With TR27: Preseason 2

Most of the time, when it comes to the 2nd half of the year, we talk about breaking WARM/HEAT records. However, there ARE occasions where we break a COLD record, and this is one of them.

On August 20, 2025, Westover AFB in Chicopee, MA only recorded a high of 63°F/17.2°C marking the coldest August 20th on record for my area.

Surely this would mean fall is on its way, but NO. We just got an extreme false fall that is now phasing out today (August 21st, high of 72°F/22.2°C expected, still below normal but way more typical for "summer phaseout" weather) and more typical late summer weather is expected for August 22nd onwards, with temps in the 70s and 80s expected, with the current forecast expected to be this for Aug 21-Sep 4, 2025:

Celsius conversion: Take number shown, subtract by 32, and then divide by 1.8.

8/21: ⛅ 72°F/52°F
8/22: 🌤️ 83°F/56°F
8/23: 🌤️ 85°F/64°F
8/24: 🌥️ 79°F/63°F
8/25: ⛈️ 78°F/56°F (51%)
8/26: 🌤️ 75°F/53°F
8/27: 🌤️ 73°F/49°F (pushing towards false fall again with low 70s and upper 40s at night! 🥶)
8/28: 🌤️ 77°F/53°F
8/29: 🌤️ 81°F/52°F
8/30: 🌤️ 80°F/52°F
8/31: ⛅ 79°F/53°F
9/1: 🌥️ 76°F/55°F *official start of 2025 season!
9/2: 🌦️ 76°F/55°F (35%)
9/3: ⛅ 78°F/55°F
9/4: 🌧️ 80°F/55°F (41%)

As you can see, we're starting to flirt with slightly cooler weather (yesterday was an EXTREME example at only 63°F, if this is flirting with cooler weather, yesterday was downright kissing/making out with cooler weather!) with nearly all nighttime lows in the 50s at this point and highs of low 70s to mid-80s, which is honestly perfect weather but a sign that summer is starting to sunset. The good news is that not only is this basically a perfect forecast, but the entire stretch from Aug 26-Sep 1 (Labor Day) looks marvelous with pretty much no rain chances and comfortable highs in the 70s/low 80s and Aug 22-23 look wonderful as well!

Aug 20th was just an extremely cold day, for August standards. (By November, we'll be excited for that type of weather, just replace the rain with sunshine! 😂😭) Summer is still on, but maybe, just maybe, its days are numbered...

September 1 will be here before you know it, enjoy these last summer vibes before it's too late!

New year, new me! 2025 Is Going To Be A VERY Interesting Year. We Shall Find Out What Happens In 2025.

Happy New Year, everyone! It's not 2025 for me yet, but China, Australia, and the eastern part of the world have already welcomed in 2025. Considering what's in store for 2025, it's going to be a VERY interesting year! Here's what 2025 will be like for me: First year of me being fully 21+ (22 on 12/12/25) Typical stuff happens for me Probably more HCC (Holyoke Community College) day trips - some possibilities being Providence RI, the space observatory in Lowell MA, Boston MA day trip (last one was March 2024, and it was COLD!), and a few other candidates! Probably further on the journey to independence! I wonder what trips I will go on in summer '25? More adulthood responsibilities! First casino visit/first dispensary visit, both 21+ places! Getting a retake for my ID, my current one sucks! (My hair was a mess and my face too!) SNOWSTORM... NOT! SCHOOL... CANCELLED! 😁😁😁🥳

Winter Storm Lorraine is going a little further south than the meteorologists were expecting. And as they say, a little goes a long way! A VERY long way! The snowfall map (for where I am) went from 8-12" Sunday night, to 4-8" this morning, to now, 2-4"? We went from a MAJOR snowstorm to just another snowy day in a matter of 24 hours! However, we won't know how much we get until the storm gets here! Everything is already cancelled tomorrow (including HCC, Holyoke Community College, which has been open on SEVERAL days that my local district closed) despite this drastic forecast change (I imagine that they're closing not because of the size of the storm, but its timing, which looks to be 4am-12pm, SMACK DAB in the work day hours for most!), and I appreciate not having to get up early in the morning tomorrow! Anyways, SNOW DAY!!! 🥳🥳🥳😁😎👍
