Please donate to our fundraiser! 🙂 #Summer2021Normality

Hi, everybody. I am asking for one simple favor, please. If you can, I am asking you to donate to our teen club's, HEROES, fundraiser. Also, if you have the time to, can you PLEASE share this on social media so more people could donate? Thanks!

Our goal is to raise $6,500 in total, but we are looking to raise $500 total by 2/2/2021, so please donate! (If you can)

Fundraiser description:

Want to join us in making a difference in the spirit of LOVE!? We're helping youth leaders raise money to benefit the Treehouse HEROES Youth Leadership program of the Treehouse Foundation (Treehouse), and any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to us.

Treehouse Foundation (Treehouse):
Treehouse's mission is to promote public investment in our most vulnerable children. We inspire, implement and support innovative child welfare practices that ensure that children who experience foster care find lifelong family relationships and supportive community connections that enable them to live fulfilling and productive lives. Our vision is "Every child rooted in family and community."

H.E.R.O.E.S Youth Leadership Program:
H.E.R.O.E.S. stands for helping everyone receive our everyday stories and we are a youth leadership program for foster and adopted youth who have been in and out of foster care.  We are youth ages 14-24 years old from Hampden, Hampshire, and Franklin counties in Massachusetts.

We are youth led, and operate like a teen club and we are open to anyone within the Tri-County area with foster care and/or adoptive experience.  As a youth led group, we share our personal stories and experiences  using visual, digital and/or performing arts, and we develop it into projects.  We love coming together for foster and adopted youth because it keeps us productive and provides fun time away from home. We come together for social connections, community leadership, life skills and simply just for FUN!

During the 2020 pandemic, HEROES youth leaders were getting anxious, worried, and disappointed because of how we were impacted by the loss of social connections.  Like everyone else that was impacted, we lost the ability to come together for meetings, meals, and adventurous outings.  In order to keep the hope alive and look forward to life after we recover from the pandemic,  a small group of us gathered safely to create a plan for a 10 day service learning road trip to fill us with life skills, college tours, civic and governmental processes, environmental action, and to explore opportunities for the future.   The trip will be filmed by youth and volunteers into a documentary about what we learned.  This 10 day trip is important because it is youth led, an acknowledgement for our hard work, patience and support of each other during the pandemic. Our goal is to raise $6,500 so that we can produce the documentary of our experiences.

We are fundraising for a 10-day summer 2021 camping trip to Washington DC/Brooklyn NY/Virginia Beach VA/CT, filled with learning about life skills, visiting colleges, making a documentary/vlog over our trip, learning about government, visiting famous places like the World Trade Center, Washington DC government buildings (Capitol, White House, etc.), and others, and lots of summer fun, visiting places like Coney Island and other amusement, including night outs, sometimes as late as midnight or maybe even later.

This will be an important trip, because it will allow us to redeem our lost summer of 2020 from the pandemic, and (possibly) have normal teenage fun and nights out, while still having fun by learning about life skills and government, in a fun way.

Thanks for your time! Also, please share this blog post if you can.
