Welcome Back, Indoor Dining! Dining YET AGAIN at the 110 Grill with Julie! (Holyoke, MA)
Wow, today was a day, and it's not even over yet! So far, at only 4PM, I have been to the 110 Grill today in Holyoke, MA, went to the Target in Holyoke, MA, AND made a list for my Cape Cod trip that starts tomorrow, June 23, and goes until Saturday, June 27. By the way, with Massachusetts governor Charlie Baker's order for starting part 2 of phase 2 today and pushing back phase 3 until July, here is what I will be able to do while in Cape Cod:
THINGS I CAN DO:
Going to parks (phase 2, part 1), walking outside (always allowed), going to the hotel (phase 2, part 1), beaches, mini golf, going to swimming pools, eating inside in restaurants (phase 2, part 2), eating outside at restaurants (phase 2, part 1), getting takeout/delivery/pickup from restaurants (always allowed), getting a haircut or nailcut (phase 2, part 1 into phase 2, part 2), go karts (phase 2, part 1)
THINGS I CANNOT DO:
PHASE 3 OPENINGS (JULY 6 OR LATER)
Going to arcades, bowling, merry go rounds, or other recreational entertainment, museums, aquariums, indoor historic sites, tours, and overnight camps, indoor movie theaters (phase 3 for small ones, phase 4 for large ones)
PHASE 4 OPENINGS (WHEN VACCINE/TREATMENT FOR COVID-19 IS DEVELOPED)
Entire theme parks (although arcades, bowling, and such are allowed in phase 3), concerts or other large venues (large movie theaters allowed to reopen in phase 4, small ones will open in phase 3)
So, back to 110 Grill.
Actually, before 110 Grill, we went to Target. And things inside were different, as always. One, you couldn't go every which way like you could before. 2, you could only buy certain amounts of certain merchandise. 3, you can't touch or try on clothes, electronics, and more. You know what I keep telling myself about COVID? "It's not 2019, it's not 2019..." And 2019 wasn't the best year, but I WOULD DO ANYTHING TO GO BACK! (Minecraft, Lake George, last year of freedom) And 4, the mall entrance was still closed despite the mall being open and you could only check out at what aisle you were TOLD to check out at, and self checkout was closed for some reason, even though I've been to Target during COVID, and it being open. So, it was a lot different. Unfortunately, I couldn't take pictures because I had to leave my tablet in the car, but I've taken enough anyways)
Now, to 110 Grill!
Today was the FIRST time since Friday, March 13 (Friday the 13th, how could I? ☠☠☠) that I was able to eat inside at 110 Grill or any restaurant. Yes, 3 MONTHS since I last ate inside at a restaurant! So, today, Monday, June 22, was the first time in 3 MONTHS that I was able to eat inside. I went with Julie, and even though she wants to stick with outside dining for the heck of COVID, today's 90 degree sizzling heat was enough to make both of us eat inside. It was very good!
First, we got inside. (First time in 3 months) We were asked if we needed a gluten free menu, and I told the waitress we needed one, rather than Athol, where I didn't GET a gluten free menu! (first time THAT happened at a 110 Grill) So, we got our menus, one regular, one gluten free, and we sat down at a table on the entrance of what normally is the private dining room. It was much better to be inside with the A/C than to be in the 90 degree sizzling sun, even with an umbrella. By the way, there was NO ONE outside, not one person! And the patio looked closed, so EVERYONE (only 10-15 people, thank god) was inside. NOBODY WANTED TO DEAL WITH TODAY'S HEAT, WE ARE IN A DROUGHT BTW, NOT GOOD!
Here are some photos and a video from my first time sitting down INSIDE the 110 Grill in 3 months before I got my food:
So, after a few minutes, we were asked if we wanted drinks. I told the waitress I wanted a Diet Coke (because my sugar has been weird lately, I wanted a carb free soda), and Julie got her usual water with lemon, and a few minutes later, I got my soda, and she got her water. (with lemon)
But, I forgot to ask for kid size, but because it was diet soda, it was fine. Thank GOD it was diet, because if it was regular, my body would NOT handle those carbs on top of the other food I had!
Before getting my soda, while we were asked for drinks, we were also asked what we wanted to eat. I ordered a 110 Classic Cheeseburger, plain (only the burger and the cheese with a bun) with American cheese and sweet potato fries (as ALWAYS!) and Julie also ordered the 110 Classic Cheeseburger plain, but with cheddar cheese, no bun, and a side of brussel sprouts. After a few minutes, the waitress got to the table and asked if I wanted a refill on my soda, and I said no. (Even though I changed my mind later on) At that time, I told the waitress that 110 Grill Holyoke was the last restaurant I visited on Friday, March 13, a few days before everything went sour on Monday, March 16, when EVERYTHING closed. After I told her that, a few minutes later, my burger and sweet potato fries came, and when it came, I asked for a gluten free roll (bread and butter) and for a refill on my Diet Coke. Within about 2 MINUTES, my roll and my soda came! For such a short time, you'd think it'd be cold, right? While, it was actually the opposite: so hot I couldn't eat it!
My plain 110 Classic Cheeseburger with sweet potato fries.
My gluten free bread and butter roll, followed by my second Diet Coke.
After awhile, my roll cooled to the point where I could eat it, so I ate that delicious roll, and I finished my food, and didn't have to take any home! So, that was my FIRST time INSIDE a 110 Grill in 3 MONTHS! Wow. After we left, Julie got curbside pickup at Target, and she showed me how it works; it was pretty cool to see, although I didn't take video or photos for obvious reasons. And after that, I went home, and now I wrote this post! It's been a great day, and it's only 4PM, so it's not over yet!
Although this isn't where we got curbside, here is a sign showing how it works.
Round1, empty and closed until July. Sad.
By the way, before going into 110 Grill, I saw a bumper sticker on a car that I AGREED with; I even took a picture of it (don't worry, I didn't get the license plate) IT'S LIKE THE BEST BUMPER STICKER EVER, I WOULD PUT IT ON MY CAR!
Here, you should check it out!
(This is the link for it btw)
It was an amazing day and I am happy about it!
