Fall Foliage With TR27: Back To Summer (09.26.25)

Back To Summer

Update 26 of the 2025 season of Fall Foliage With TR27

09.26.25

Today brought us back to dry weather, but it was honestly very cloudy, though there WAS some sunshine during the day, clouds won the majority of the day I was out attending a morning class at college today, though one thing it WAS today that it wasn't yesterday was warm, it got to around 80 today, 80 at the PWS in Easthampton, MA and 81 at Westover AFB, which because today's reading was 11°F above average (12 above average at Westover), today was a red tier day and it looks like that the rest of September will be red tier or high-end orange tier at the very least with readings in the upper 70s/low 80s! Our weather has gone back about a month in time now!

Here's the summary and fall foliage pics below:

For today, day 26:

High: 80°F
Average: 69°F
(+11)

As you can see, we tacked on ANOTHER 80-degree day today, which, news flash, we are officially in fall now, so this shouldn't be happening anymore! However, it IS and it looks like it WILL happen for the rest of the month potentially! The current forecast for the rest of September (27-30) has highs on either side of 80 EVERY day with summer weather that refuses to leave, and from the looks of it, we only get a brief hiatus into fall weather for the first few days of October, and then it's back to the 70s?! At least it's not back to the 80s like the Marigold Theater show I went to 2 nights ago! However, this week, it IS back to the 80s! Maybe that will be the name for tomorrow's update?

The expected forecast from 9/27-10/10:
9/27: ⛅ 79/58
9/28: ⛅ 83/54
9/29: 🌤️ 81/53
9/30: 🌥️ 81/47
10/1: ☀️ 68/41
10/2: ☀️ 65/37
10/3: 🌤️ 69/41
10/4: ⛅ 73/50
10/5: 🌧️ 75/54 (36%)
10/6: ⛅ 75/51
10/7: ⛅ 75/53
10/8: 🌧️ 73/49 (41%)
10/9: ⛅ 70/47
10/10: ⛅ 69/48

Talk about a stubbornly warm forecast! Most of these days are still warm, and we're getting into October very soon and the weather only wants to cool down for a few days and then it gets back to being warm again! The good news is that the end of the forecast shows another cooldown, but only to the upper 60s? How is October 1 and 2 going to be colder than October 10? That doesn't make sense meteorologically, it's completely backwards!

What this means to me is that going into October, the temp the forecast wants to be at is around 68-72, which for October is above normal! It will still be warm enough to wear shorts most days and walk outside without a hoodie/sweater, and this is October we're going into, not September, that's what we're LEAVING! How are we STILL going to be in "dress for summer" weather in the first and maybe second week of October? October is supposed to be THE sweater weather month, but I guess that's November now if the start of October is going to behave like this!

Here's the main pic and fall foliage pics taken today, 9/26/25:

Anyways, it was another beautiful day, and I'll see you tomorrow for another gorgeous day! I'd call it late summer, but we're already past the equinox so that terminology no longer works!

Whatever, I'll see you tomorrow!
