Fall Foliage With TR27: The First Full Day Of Summer (09.23.25)
The First Full Day Of Summer
Update 23 of the 2025 season of Fall Foliage With TR27
09.23.25
Wait a minute, today's the first full day of fall, not summer! But with highs that got to the upper 70s and lots of cloudiness, it basically felt like the start of summer today, however, it's not really looking like summer anymore as more and more trees begin their color changing for the year. Temps at night are falling HARD (except for this week, which is basically back to summer, maybe that will be the name of an update later this week) and the days are getting shorter, which with the warm days are creating practically perfect conditions for foliage, the only thing we need is a little more precipitation, this cake that is fall is ALMOST perfect!
Here's the summary and fall foliage pics below:
For today, day 23:
High: 77°F
Average: 70°F
(+7)
We're now officially in fall '25. However, the temps are STILL behaving like Labor Day weekend on repeat (especially the end of this week!) and I'm still wearing shorts. On September 23. Fall lovers, it's gonna be a while! Sorry... We'll be lucky if it comes by Columbus Day/Indigenous People's Day weekend at this point.
Keep in mind that starting September 25, ANY high in the 80s is at least red tier territory (11-20°F above average) and I wouldn't be surprised if we use the pink tier (21+°F above average) for the first time in October
The expected forecast from 9/24-10/7:
9/24: 🌧️ 68/60 (66%)
9/25: ⛈️ 73/62 (90%)
9/26: ⛅ 80/54
9/27: ⛅ 79/56
9/28: ⛅ 82/52
9/29: ⛅ 78/51
9/30: ⛅ 74/46
10/1: 🌤️ 69/41
10/2: ⛅ 68/42
10/3: ⛅ 72/44
10/4: ⛅ 72/47
10/5: ⛅ 74/48
10/6: ⛅ 73/45
10/7: 🌥️ 71/46 *By October 7th, any reading in the 70s is at least orange tier territory, and by October 20th, ANY reading in the 70s is at least red tier territory, and by that date, any reading in the 80s+ would be pink tier territory. Think it can't be 80+ degrees that late in the year? Maybe you should check out the fact that it hit 82 on Oct 28, 2023, it hit 86 on Oct 21, 2024, it hit 82 on Oct 22, 2024, it hit 81 on HALLOWEEN in 2024 and the day after (Oct 31 & Nov 1, 2024 were BOTH 81 degree days!) and 83 on Nov 6, 2024! Maybe that will change your mind. The red and pink tier is becoming the new normal, and that is FRIGHTENING!
This forecast is honestly insane. It seems like at MOST, the temps want to fall to the upper 60s, which for a forecast during the late Sep/early Oct timeframe, is rather problematic. This looks like a forecast for Aug 24-Sep 6 or something like that, a month prior! Seasonal lag is basically a month at this point, as in October is the new September, September is a summer month now basically, and November is the new October, and, dare I say it, December is the new November, and January is the new December! Considering that Xmas has struggled to have snow lately but it's ALWAYS started in January, this honestly makes sense. This is NOT good!
Here's the main pic and fall foliage pics taken today, 9/23/25:
Early morning, lots of fog, no seeing the mountain! At least not yet anyways!
The fall vibe is starting, but it's still quite early!
✨🍁☁️🏞️
Leaves in the water! This water isn't safe for swimming anyways because it's contaminated by cyanobacteria and is treated in the peak of summer!
Anyways, that's really it for today. See you tomorrow, and it looks to be cooler and MUCH rainier!
