Fall Foliage With TR27: Fall But Not Really (09.22.25)
Fall But Not Really
Update 22 of the 2025 season of Fall Foliage With TR27
09.22.25
Today's weather was honestly beautiful, but honestly, it felt closer to the first day of summer rather than the first day of fall today, with lots of sunshine and temps in the low-to-mid 70s, slightly above average for this time of year but still quite nice. However, for the rest of this week, we get more of a summer taste compared to a fall taste with nearly daily shower/thunderstorm chances, warmer temps (especially at night!) and a more humid vibe, obviously. The last week of September is looking more like the last week of August in terms of the weather...
Here's the summary and fall foliage pics below:
For today, day 22:
High: 73°F
Average: 70°F
(+3)
Today was the pick of the week in terms of the weather, since the rest of the week will be unsettled, with chances for rain pretty much every day (pretty much settled that it will rain on Thursday, 9/25 and 9/24 as well!) and way more cloud cover. After we get through this much-needed wet week, it looks like the start of October will pick up where we left off, with temps on either side of 70 and lots of sunshine. Wait, no? Every day 70+?! No, that can't be right... 😬🥵
The expected forecast from 9/23-10/6:
9/23: 🌧️ 81/61 (38%) First full day of fall? More like the first full day of summer! If the nighttime low is 62 or above, that's ENTIRELY red tier territory, 11-20°F above average!
9/24: 🌧️ 71/59 (63%)
9/25: 🌧️ 71/62 (89%)
9/26: 🌥️ 79/55
9/27: ⛅ 79/56
9/28: 🌤️ 77/47
9/29: ⛅ 73/45
9/30: ☀️ 71/46
9/31: ⛅ 71/44 *Oops, did I write 9/31? I meant 10/1, sorry about that! Totally not fixing that because the expiration date on my gluten-free whoopie pie was 9/31 today... 🤣🤣🤣
10/2: 🌤️ 71/43
10/3: 🌤️ 72/45
10/4: ⛅ 72/46
10/5: ⛅ 71/47
10/6: ⛅ 71/47
A week before Columbus Day and we're STILL struggling to stay below 70?! Yeah, that's NOT good. There's a good chance that the entire month of September 2025 will be +3 to +5 or +6 above average. That's NOT a good thing, because +3 itself is above the global climate warming limitation goal!
A while ago (4 days ago), I said "enjoy the warm weather while it lasts", but now, it looks like "it lasts" is STILL going to basically continue the entire forecast, now through October 6! Every day is "shorts friendly" until the beginning of October and maybe even mid-October at this point! Keep in mind it should NOT be in the 70s anymore by October, the average high drops to 67 by October 1st, and DON'T get me started on all that "6-7" talk that's going on right now!
Yes, this weather's practically perfect (especially September 29 onwards), but it should not STILL be 70+ degrees consistently going into October! Right now, our highs should look like 60-70°F, not 70-80°F!
Here's the main pic and fall foliage pics taken today, 9/22/25:
This is turning STUNNING!
Today (74/43) looks acceptable, but 81/57 and 72/63* are more summer readings!
*Though 72 is much closer to a fall reading (borderline), a nighttime low of 63 screams summer.
Oh no, the American Legion? What's happening?
(off topic)
My last pic of summer '25: 16 minutes before the equinox!
SUMMER '25 PICS - BEFORE 2:19 PM
----------------------EQUINOX @ 2:19 PM----------------------
FALL '25 PICS - AFTER 2:19 PMMy first pic of fall '25, very fitting! Only 3 minutes post-equinox! 🍁🎃😎☀️🍂
It's really starting as you can tell!
75°F on the first day of fall. Seems a bit warm to me, but also not really! Tomorrow, though, definitely on the warm side!
75°F at Big E's Supermarket today, 9/22/25. This thermometer often reads high, or not at all, especially when it's raining/nighttime! Also, lately, this thermometer has shown "/ 0" when trying to show the date, like it's trying to divide by zero, which you CANNOT DO in the world of math, outside of wheel theory, which is complex stuff, way up there!
As you can see, I didn't lie, the date really says "9/31", who's gonna tell them? Back in August 2020, I also had a pack of gluten-free chocolate chip waffles have "2021/FEB/29" as the expiration date, which was impossible because 2021 wasn't a leap year! However, 9/31 NEVER happens, EVER! Does the labeling machine think every month has 31 days? I'd love to see a "2/30" or "2/31", but that probably won't happen! 😂😭
And, at 100 items, we conclude. 99 pics and then the main pic at the start. I could've added more, but is there REALLY a need for more than 100 pics of fall foliage in 1 day? That's just ridiculous!
Anyways, I'll see you for the first full day of fall tomorrow. However, it's going to feel and probably look more like summer, in terms of the weather, not the foliage, it's starting to look like fall, but I mean "look" as in the clouds and thunderstorms, not the trees!
81 degrees as a high on the first full day of fall. Yikes. 🥵😬⛈️
