Fall Foliage With TR27: What Is Happening?! (09.27.25)
What Is Happening?!
Update 27 of the 2025 season of Fall Foliage With TR27
09.27.25
What Is Happening?! For this 27th update, as we close out September, we get 5 days of July-like weather (09.26-09.30) to close out the month with highs in the low and even middle 80s expected between 09.28 and 09.30, and even though we briefly get cooler 10.01-10.03, it looks like right after that, highs are now expected to reach the upper 70s on a trajectory quite close to hitting 80 ONCE AGAIN, in October! What is happening with the weather?! This is insane. We're having the same EXACT thing that happened in 2024: Fall colors, summer vibes!
Here's the summary and fall foliage pics below:
For today, day 27:
High: 81°F
Average: 68°F
(+13)
Today was another incredibly warm day, but if you thought today was crazy (we just missed 80 officially, it got to 79 at Westover, which is still +11 for this time of year, red tier territory, 11-20°F above average!), wait until you realize that the last 3 days of September (28-30) are going to be a repeat with temps likely above 80 ALL 3 days, especially tomorrow, which is an insane pattern! And from the way it's looking, after our brief cooldown to start October, by the end of next week, we could be looking at temps in the upper 70s and maybe even low 80s... In OCTOBER. We're looking at the possibility of temps around +15, which is BAD. The climate clearly got stuck on Labor Day weekend and this is like Groundhog Day since we keep repeating the same weather over and over again! Maybe Weekend at Bernie's cursed our weather pattern Labor Day weekend and caused an infinite loop!
For those who love warm weather, most of the upcoming forecast still delivers, especially September 28-30 and October 4-8. For those who want fall weather, October 1 & 2 will deliver with highs falling to the 60s, but right before that, highs will consistently be in the 80s and right after that, temps go back to the 70s for an entire week getting quite close to 80 in the predictions for tonight!
The expected forecast from 9/28-10/11:
9/28: ⛅ 84/49 *The last day of The Big E is going to feel more like a midsummer's fair - this is NOT normal!
9/29: 🌤️ 80/51
9/30: ⛅ 82/45
10/1: ☀️ 69/41
10/2: ☀️ 64/35
10/3: 🌤️ 71/38 *before we continue, these temp fluctuations are insane! Usually, a day in the 70s is NOT 30s at night, it would usually be around low-to-mid 50s for a day in the low 70s!
10/4: ☀️ 75/45
10/5: ⛅ 78/54
10/6: ⛅ 79/54
10/7: ⛅ 78/52
10/8: 🌤️ 75/51
10/9: ⛅ 72/48
10/10: ⛅ 70/46
10/11: 🌧️ 68/46 (43%)
Wow, summer does NOT want to leave! The majority of this forecast is still shorts weather, and the only thing I really have to say about this is that we're going into October, and aside from the VERY beginning of the month (which will solidly feel like proper October!), most of the forecast is still quite above average! How the forecast is STILL 70s/80s going into OCTOBER is beyond me. Oh wait, I know, it's climate change, DUH! Anyways, this forecast continues beautiful weather, but temps in the mid-to-upper 70s are well above average for the beginning of October. As you can tell, the climate has been delayed by about a month most of the time, with the beginning of October looking like the way the beginning of September should look! That is NOT a good thing, and if this keeps up, we'll be Xmas shopping in shorts, or at most, we'll be doing it without a coat!
Here's the main pic and fall foliage pics taken today, 9/27/25:
Today had a bit more cloudiness, especially towards the end, but this is because of a system that is coming to the south of us that might BRUSH us with a few showers tonight, but the chance is low and most will likely stay dry for the next 13 days, with only a moderate chance of rain (43%) expected at the tail end of the forecast on October 11! Anyways, see you tomorrow for a trip back two months in time based on the weather! It's gonna be quite warm, almost hot! For those going to The Big E tomorrow, dress like it's July and don't forget the sunscreen if you're going to be there a while! I missed The Big E this year, my last time going was '22. Maybe in '26?
