Fall Foliage With TR27: Do You Remember... The Last Night Of Summer? (09.21.25)
Do You Remember... The Last Night Of Summer?
Update 21 of the 2025 season of Fall Foliage With TR27
09.21.25
Today's update is titled as a remake of the famous lyric from the song September by Earth, Wind & Fire that goes "do you remember, the 21st night of September?" since today is September 21 and it is the last day of summer, with fall officially starting tomorrow at 2:19 PM!
Today's weather felt like a perfect closeout to summer, and I'm honestly impressed that warm weather lasted this long, but after 2023 and 2024 especially, I'm not at all surprised.
Here's the summary and fall foliage pics below:
For today, day 21:
High: 72°F
Average: 71°F
(+1)
Today's weather was basically indistinguishable from normal, with only a 1 degree difference from average and lots of sunshine to close out summer '25, and this was a CHAOTIC summer, I must admit! I want to shoutout K-Pop Demon Hunters as being THE movie of summer '25 and being the top music of the summer since the charts were SO stale (songs from '24 and even '23 were still on the charts the entire summer!) but we're getting off-topic. Back to the foliage! It was a GORGEOUS day and tomorrow looks like it will feel a bit more like summer with slightly higher temps but this week looks like it will deliver some much-needed rain to kickstart the fall foliage season and the fall season itself, this week will feel like a wet July week with some rain chances, very high nighttime lows for this time of year, and overall a vibe more similar to late August rather than late September. At least, all of it except 9/25, that is, 66 degrees does NOT usually happen as a high in midsummer, but that doesn't mean it hasn't EVER happened. July 3, 2021 was only 62 degrees!
The expected forecast from 9/22-10/5:
9/22: 🌤️ 76/55
9/23: ⛈️ 79/59 (34%)
9/24: 🌧️ 71/56 (32%)
9/25: 🌧️ 66/59 (69%)
9/26: 🌧️ 78/62 (55%)
9/27: 🌧️ 75/57 (35%)
9/28: ⛅ 76/51
9/29: ⛅ 72/46
9/30: ⛅ 69/45
10/1: ⛅ 73/46
10/2: ⛅ 73/47
10/3: ⛅ 70/44
10/4: ⛅ 68/43
10/5: ⛅ 70/44
This forecast shows a DRASTIC cooldown on 9/25 and this forecast looks ever so closer to normal, but those nighttime lows this week are REALLY pushing it this late in the season, 60s as lows? Better keep your ACs in if you haven't taken them out already, at least until September 28, that is...
Here's the main pic and fall foliage pics taken today, 9/21/25:
Yet another small update just because. Today was a gorgeous last day of summer and I'm noticing that the foliage really IS starting to change but it's still early. By the beginning of October, we should be approaching peak season and new reports now show that for New England, it will likely be a quick-lived but bright season that will likely come early.
Anyways, tomorrow is a big update: The first day of fall! However, with temps expected to be mid-70s, it will probably feel more like the first day of summer than the first day of fall...
See you tomorrow!
Updated 7:55 PM on 9/21/25 to colorize highs based on how far above or below average they were/are.
