Fall Foliage With TR27: Perfection I (09.09.25)
Perfection I
Update 9 of the 2025 season of Fall Foliage With TR27
09.09.25
Once again, a perfect weather day! Today was absolutely gorgeous with highs in the mid/upper 70s, lots of sunshine and a cool breeze, the type of weather you could deal with forever, but unfortunately, it can't happen forever, but the good news is that we pretty much get it for all of the damn forecast except for 1 day, that being tomorrow, which is expected to be cloudy, potentially rainy (VERY slight chance, highest chance further east) and cooler with highs struggling to hit 70. After tomorrow, we get back to this amazing pattern with highs in the 70s (even a couple chances at hitting 80!), lots of sunshine and absolutely perfect weather!
Here's the summary and fall foliage pics below:
For today, day 9:
High: 77°F
Average: 75°F
(+2)
Pretty much exactly normal again, except the average dropped from 76 to 75. Yeah, this is when the fall cool down usually begins, and today was the first day I saw a home with their pool covered up that was literally open yesterday. The upcoming 14-day forecast is below, which would be BEAUTIFUL for swimming most days, but I guess it wasn't quite warm enough for them and they closed it for the season. They gave it a week after Labor Day, maybe they thought Labor Day was yesterday?
The expected forecast from 9/10-9/23:
9/10: ☁️ 69/48
9/11: 🌤️ 80/48
9/12: ☀️ 74/48
9/13: ⛅ 77/54
9/14: 🌧️ 79/53 (31%)
9/15: 🌧️ 76/51 (35%)
9/16: ⛅ 79/52
9/17: ⛅ 80/53
9/18: ⛅ 72/48
9/19: ⛅ 74/48
9/20: ⛅ 75/51
9/21: ⛅ 74/53
9/22: ⛅ 75/51
9/23: ⛅ 75/51
Tomorrow looks to be a solid light blue (6-10°F below average) tier day and if the NWS is closer to being right, we could be looking at a solid dark blue (11-20°F below average) tier day, which this would be the 1st day in that tier this season. I can start to see why people think it's a good time to close their pools, but most of those days are still plenty warm. If we get a repeat of 2023/2024, people will regret closing their pools right after Labor Day when it gets to be 70s/80s later in September and even in Oct/Nov and they want to swim but it's already too late because they closed their pools! HOWEVER, I don't want people keeping pools open THAT long and I have no say in when they actually give up on pool season but I'm also just saying, just in case it gets warm again, summer did A LOT of fighting back against fall in 2023/24, as late as late October in 2023 and early November in 2024... Just in case...
Here's the main pic and fall foliage pics taken today, 9/9/25:
OK, the mountain is starting to look like fall! STARTING. We're not in full fall mode yet!
As you can see, many of the trees are still dark green/height of summer. We've got a ways to go!
Nice... 😈 (About 20.6°C)
It's starting in Northampton, MA!
But also not really! 😂
This is gorgeous! One side of this tree is in fall and the other is still in summer!
It's starting over on Ferry Street on the opposite of the mills! (One Ferry Project)
Pretty much all dark green still. I can see why The Foliage Report has us all in dark green still, it's only the early trees changing right now!
Pool: Closed for the season as of today!
And that's really it for tonight! See you tomorrow! Tomorrow's weather isn't looking as good, and I'll probably be wearing a sweater as well...
Updated 9:07 PM on 9/11/25 to colorize highs based on how far above or below average they were/are.
